Iñaki Gamborena

A Renowned Expert in Dental Aesthetics

Dr. Iñaki Gamborena earned his dental degree from the Universidad Odontológica Dominicana in 1989. He continued his postgraduate training in the United States, obtaining a certificate in prosthodontics and a Master of Science degree in dentistry from the University of Washington in 1996. His exceptional clinical and academic performance earned him the Bolender contest award during his time at the University of Washington.

Subsequently, Dr. Gamborena received a certificate in oral and craniofacial implants from the University of Texas in 1997. His commitment to education led him to become an Affiliate Professor at the University of Washington since 2001. Additionally, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania and as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Periodontics at the Medical College of Georgia.

Dr. Gamborena is a respected member of professional organizations, including the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (since 2002) and the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry (since 2011). He is also a founding member of “The Ponti Group.” His expertise extends beyond academia, as he lectures worldwide on topics related to dental aesthetics and implants.

Notably, Dr. Gamborena authored the book “EVOLUTION: Contemporary Protocols for Anterior Single Tooth Implants” in collaboration with Prof. Markus Blatz, published by Quintessence Publishing Co Inc in 2014. He is also credited with inventing the “Slim Healing” and “Slim Temporary Abutments,” innovative concepts that maximize space for soft tissue growth. These advancements have significantly impacted implant dentistry.

In his private practice in San Sebastian, Dr. Gamborena focuses on esthetics, restorative dentistry, and implantology.
